Oxidation of Phenyl Thiourea by pyridinium chlorochromate in aqueous DMF medium, containing perchloric acid has been studied. The rate reaction was found to be first order with respect [PCC], [PTU] and [H+]. increase the oxidation acidity indicates involvement a protonated chromium(VI) species rate-determining step. increased dielectric constant medium., which that there is an ion–dipole type interaction activation parameters have evaluated.
